Such features are considered typical of the light-near dissociation of Adie syndrome and of neuropathic tonic pupils, where damage to the ciliary ganglion or ciliary nerves is believed to be the mechanism. Most descriptions of the AR pupil do not mention segmental iris sphincter constriction, or slow, sustained constriction with a near vision effort. The condition is classically due to tertiary syphilis, diabetes, and may happen with encephalitis. They are characterized by no reaction to light, normal near response (light-near dissociation), often with iris atrophy, iris transillumination defects, and poor dilation with mydriatic drops. What the characteristics of the Argyll Robertson pupil?Īrgyll Robertson pupils are small (<2mm), irregular pupils (almost always bilateral). Aberrant regeneration of the 3rd nerve,Ĥ4. Ocular surgery (laser panretinal photocoagulation, cryotherapy orbital surgery),ĥ. Severe loss of afferent light input to both eyes (retina, optic nerves, chiasm),Ģ. Tadpole pupil may occur multiple times for several days or a week and then disappear.ġ. The pupil undergoes sectoral dilation lasting for a few minutes before returning to normal (segmental spasm of the iris dilator muscle). It is a benign phenomenon that is spontaneously reversible. Tadpole pupil is an irregular pupil that resembles a tadpole. Where is the lesion in a patient with light-near dissociation due to peripheral neuropathy? These include Adie’s tonic pupil and Parinaud Syndrome – and since the advent of penicillin, they are much more common in the Western world than Argyll-Robinson pupil.īouissee, Valerie, and John B. However, any lesion resulting in a present accommodation reflex and absent pupillary reflex can be referred to under the more general term “light-near dissociation”. The term “Argyll-Robinson Pupil” refers to a specific defect as a consequence of tertiary syphilis. The pre-synaptic cells of this limb lie in the Edinger-Westphal nucleus of CN III. Remember that as long as a patient can sense light, the afferent limb of the pupillary constriction reflex should be intact – therefore, the absence of pupillary constriction in a seeing patient would indicate a defect in the efferent limb. However, the “pupillary reflex” refers to the ability of the eye to constrict when exposed to a bright stimulus, such as your pen light.īoth reflexes include pupillary constriction, and are therefore both mediated through the parasympathetic fibers of the ciliary ganglion. This reflex is carried out in part by pupillary constriction – so the pupils will constrict as you bring a far object into the near eye field – for example, moving your finger close to the patient’s nose. Remember that “accommodation” refers to the ability of the eyes to focus on a near object. Usually the constriction to light is stronger than constriction to a near stimulus, but the reverse is true in the case of Argyll-Robinson pupil. Backwards, you have PRA – Pupillary Reflex Absent. Forwards, you have ARP – Accommodation Reflex Present. To remember the ocular symptoms of Argyll-Robinson Pupil, just take the first letter of each word – ARP – and read it forwards and backwards.

Also, Al hates being a suit of armor, and Ed is trying to get him out throughout the series, so regardless of who the person is, I just don't think Ed would wish that fate on anyone, so in a sense, he's trying to save Greed both from the mistake of human transmutation, and from having to live life as a suit of armor.Īlso, from when I watched it, Greed and his pals didn't initially come across as trustworthy, so I wouldn't have struck any kind of a deal with them, regardless of the repercussions. I'm not sure if Ed would have been able to, or would have known how to bond Al's soul to the armor had his soul not already have been separated and trapped in the truth, meaning for someone else to do it, they would likely have to open a portal to the truth again through human transmutation, which is not something Ed would be encouraging. I think Ed mainly declined the deal because of what bonding Al to the armor involved, and because they were trying to reverse it. Indeed, it was a bigger hit than Succession and Ted Lasso combined, so it was unsurprising when a second season was greenlit days after its debut. Schwarzenegger's first foray into the world of television didn't seem all that appealing from its trailers, but his undeniable star power helped Fubar become another overnight hit for Netflix. The reason? His daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) has become embroiled in some questionable antics, and it's up to her father to try and save the day, albeit in comical fashion. But here we are, in 2023, with the legendary bodybuilder-turned-actor-turned-politician doing just that.įubar stars the man infamously dubbed 'Arnie' as Luke Brenner, a CIA agent on the verge of retirement who's forced to go back out into the field for one last big job. The episodes are super short, so you'll fire through it in a weekend if you can stomach the good and bad (though mostly bad) things that happen to its eclectic cast of characters. The ideas vary wildly between comedy, horror, action, and drama, with a dark touch at its heart – what happens if a home-cleaning unit starts trying to kill its owner? What happens if a yoghurt tries to secure world domination? Sometimes, an episode is as simple as a woman being on the run from a killer after witnessing a horrible murder. But, taken as a larger work, it has a lot to give. Like most (if not all) anthologies, the quality of Adult CG animated anthology Love, Death and Robots varies between episodes. Love, Death & Robots is a great R-rated animated anthology show. So, if you’re seeing HIGHER speeds when on a VPN, something’s up! If you’re new to VPN’s – know that a VPN might slow down your internet connection. Once again, just search for “VPN” with your favorite engine and take your pick from the plethora of options. virtual private network.Ī lot of paid options exist for these, but many also feature free options that should work just fine for testing purposes. Throttling isn’t something ISPs tend to advertise or give you any easy ways of finding out whether they’re doing it or not, since they’d generally prefer to keep such tactics hidden from the end-user. How Do I Check if my Internet Provider Messes with my Wi-Fi Connection? With that in mind, in the next sections, we’ll examine how you can detect throttling, and how you might be able to get around it.Ĭheck also: customer problems with Sky Broadband. That being said, this may not be much consolation if you’re a streamer, gamer, or so on who’s being effectively prevented from enjoying your hobby. In this way, you could argue that the ISP is trying to ensure a more fair and equitable distribution of the limited resource everyone is competing for at these hours. They do this specifically because everyone is competing for bandwidth at the same time, and there is only so much to go around. Notably, ISPs are most likely to throttle connections during peak hours. On the other hand, if you tend to do a lot of streaming, online gaming, and other activities that require a lot of data, you could be subject to throttling by your ISP. If you’re just trying to check social media and maybe watch a few silly videos before bed, you’re probably not considered a heavy user. The definition of a heavy user is set by the ISP and varies from one provider to another. ISPs tend to only throttle what they consider “heavy” users. Your ISP can do what’s called “throttling” your connection, which means placing an artificial limit on how much data you can use at any given time.īefore you get too worried, though, you should know that the average internet user is not likely to experience throttling and whether you do or not depends on a few things. Can Internet Providers Directly Affect my Wi-Fi Speed? Let’s take a look at that possibility in the next section. That being said, while your fellow internet users are usually the more likely culprit, it’s not impossible that your ISP could be slowing your connection. Needless to say, everyone trying to do these things at the same time means there’s less bandwidth to go around, and slower speeds may be experienced. These hours tend to occur because they represent the period during which most people are done with school and/or work for the day and all seek to stream, watch, game, and so on during the same after-work/school hours.

While a Parks and Rec revival would literally be the universe treating itself the way it should, it doesn’t look like a reboot is happening for now. Even if you don’t consider the countless iconic guest appearances or the pure comedic gold sprinkled throughout each and every episode, the show gave us the now A-list Marvel and action star Chris Pratt, the iconic Li'l Sebastian, and even a holiday people actually want to celebrate every year - and that honestly just scratches the surface. There’s a reason we’re still talking about Parks and Rec over half a decade later: the show gave us so much. This episode really showcases how much Ron had grown to care and depend on Leslie and the other characters. It takes a while, but the two spill the beans on why they’ve been so angry with one another. The two can’t even be in the same room together, so their friends lock them in the Parks and Rec department to sort it out. (Image credit: Youtube) Honorable Mention: Leslie and Ron (Season 7, Episode 4)īetween the time jump that happened in between Season 6 and 7, Ron and Leslie had a massive falling out. Curated by Cracked Parks and Recreation Comedy TV Amy Poehler Photo: s3. In a side plot, Ron Swanson has to figure out how to eat a banana, and ends up hiding it in a burger like you hide a pill from a dog. The Best Jerry Burns in ‘Parks and Rec’ We’ve decided to narrow down some of the best examples of the gang ruthlessly burning Jerry/Garry/Larry/Terry who, again, was just a sweet, totally undeserving soul. After Chris Traeger gets “one of his running feet” caught in a coyote trap that is loose on the floor and loses his cool probably more than he does in the whole series, the pair (and in Chris’s fit of rage, the whole department) is fired and Leslie gets to work finding a suitable replacement. The burn-out slackers of the Animal Control department show up occasionally from Season 2 to 5, but in this particular episode Leslie Knope has had enough of their shenanigans. Wittels was also a writer and producer on the show, but passed away before the series’ end, making his character even more dear to the hearts of fans and those who worked on the show. This episode has so many funny moments, and it’s pretty much impossible to have a “best of” Parks and Rec list without somehow including the Animal Control duo of Brett and Harris, played by Colton Dunn and Harris Wittels, respectively. Currently you are able to watch Parks and Recreation streaming on Crave or buy it as download on Apple TV, Google Play Movies, Microsoft Store. We are starting to get towards the end of Season 2 and I think it's safe to say that the show has found its footing and its episodes like this that prove that even when the show isn't at its best, it still puts out very entertaining content.(Image credit: Youtube) 10. Andy sure has changed a lot since he was living in a pit in the beginning of the season and Ann notices this. There are several waste depots where York Region residents can drop off garbage, recycling, yard waste, electronics and other waste generated in York Region. We also see a love triangle start to form between Andy, April, and Ann. We've seen Ron hunt, play saxophone, and woodwork, and now apparently he even knows judo. The side-plot includes Ron Swanson teaching a self-defense course to the Parks Department. However, by the end of this episode, Jerry has the ultimate "Jerry moment" as we find out more about what actually happened at the mugging for which he was injured. Up to his point, Jerry has been mainly just the show's punching bag, but here we see how he is actually somewhat respected and not just constantly bullied all the time. Even though this episode's main plot is more of a vehicle to give Andy Samberg great comedic moments, it does serve as maybe the first major storyline to feature Jerry as the central character. With that being said, it's still solid, and an average episode of Parks is better than a lot of sitcom's best episodes. There aren't a lot of memorable scenes in this episode or ones that help evolve the show. It's funny and has a good guest appearance from Samberg. There isn't anything necessarily wrong with it. "Park Safety" is what I would consider to be an average episode of Parks and Recreation. They can be revealed, for example, by careful timing of operations of the real CPU which the speculative state can cause to take longer or shorter than normal. Meltdown and Spectre are both due to cases where the side-effects of speculative execution on this hardware are not completely hidden. Modern processors have lots of hardware supporting speculative execution. If it is wrong the processor state accumulated during the speculative execution has to be hidden from the real program. If it is right, it has saved a lot of time. For example, it can guess which way it is likely to go at a branch, and head off down that path ("branch prediction"). So the CPU continues to execute "speculatively". It is a waste to stop the CPU while it waits for these operations to complete. What is speculative execution? Some things a CPU does, such as fetching a cache miss from main memory, take hundreds of clock cycles. That access would result in a page fault."
